Title: In any case, I'm not sorry.
Author: Kels-chan/Hypnos
Ani sighed as she walked home from school, Mater following close behind her.
It wasn't a particularly good day, nor a bad one. Just... normal. Slightly
overcast, not too cold, not too warm.
"Hey, Mater... you think we'll find any other senshi soon?" Ani waited for
the calico's answer for a few seconds, only to be answered by silence. "Mater?
" She stopped in her tracks and turned around to see that Mater had stopped
a while back, and was now watching somthing down a nearby street.
"Hey, Mater! What are you looking at?" Ani asked, walking over to the kitty.
Mater once more didn't answer her. Ani looked down the street to see the
Sydney School for the Arts just being let out. Nothing seemed out of the
ordinary, though.
"...That girl..."
"Huh?" Ani looked down to Mater. Mater looked back up at her.
"You asked what I was looking at. See that girl there? The one just walking
out of the school?" Mater pointed to help Ani out a little.
"Hmm... yeah. She looks rich, what about her?"
"I'm getting a feeling... I think she may be a senshi."
"No way! That rich girl?" Ani got little dollar signs in her eyes at the
thought of the girl being a senshi. "Maybe we can be friends!"
"Ani, stop acting immature and come with me, we need to catch her before
she leaves." Mater hopped up to Ani's shoulder as Ani ran over to the school.
"And so then that stupid substitute had the NERVE to try to cast me as an
understudy!!" Quieta yelled to Karri as they walked out of the school. "Thank
GOD he's only a substitute!"
"Excuse me!!"
Quieta and Karri looked over to the strange girl who had just yelled. She
ran up to them, her long firey hair trailing behind her.
"Excuse me, um, could I talk to you for a second?" the girl asked Quieta.
"...Who are YOU?" Quieta asked the girl flatly.
"My name is Anima Oriens. I REALLY need to talk to you about somthing
important," she said urgently.
Quieta looked at her skeptically, then started walking down the school's
steps once more.
"Alright, but you had better make it quick. I've been awake for four hours
straight already, and I'm getting tired."
"Should I come with you?" Karri asked Quieta, who just waved a hand back at
her.
"No, I'll be fine."
Ani blinked at Quieta for a second, then ran down the steps after her.
"Well, what did you want to talk to me about?"
Ani looked at Quieta. They had managed to find a place where no one would
overhear them, though Quieta seemed obviously at least a little miffed about
not getting any sleep.
"I'm not sure if there's any really graceful way I can say this, so..." Ani
picked up the cat that was on her shoulder and set it on the ground. "I'll
let Mater do the talking."
"...a cat?" Quieta raised an eyebrow as the cat stepped forward and sat at
Quieta's feet.
"Not just any cat, Quieta." Mater said with a... well... catlike smile.
Quieta stared at Mater.
Mater stared at Quieta.
The wind blew.
Ani coughed.
Quieta blinked.
"Oh... how nice... a talking cat...."
Ani gave Quieta a strange look.
"You mean you aren't scared or anything?" Ani asked. Quieta looked up to her.
"You mean... it's real? You can see it too?"
"What do you mean 'you can see it too?'"
Mater coughed.
"Please, girls, this is serious," she said. Mater then explained to Quieta
about the senshi, and gave her her transformation brooch. Quieta stared at it
for a few seconds, then tossed it back.
"Thanks, but no thanks," Quieta said, and began to walk away. Ani caught the
brooch and ran after Quieta.
"'Thanks but no thanks'?? You're a senshi, Quieta! Isn't that the least bit
exciting to you?!"
Quieta stopped and turned to Ani.
"No. It's not. I have enough going on in my life right now, and between my
school and the sleep I need, I don't need this right now. Find someone else
to entertain you and your freak cat."
Ani was just about to respond to this, when a wall near them expoded, and
out of it stepped a big, slimy black monster holding a person in it's grip.
Ani shoved the brooch into Quieta's hands. "You know what to do!" she yelled
as she stepped forward and yelled "EOS GODDESS POWER, MAKE-UP!"
Quieta looked over to the monster, then at the brooch.
"Oh hell, like I have any choice in this... Hypnos god power, make up," she
said with a sigh as the transformation sequence was triggered.
"I am the goddess of dawn, you dare not challenge me, lest you face the
eternal darkness of death! Sailor Eos, is here!" Sailor Eos yelled, pointing
at the monster. Sailor Hypnos stepped forward.
"And I'm Sailor Hypnos, and in the name of sleep, I'll smash you to hell!"
she yelled.
Sailor Eos looked over to Sailor Hypnos.
"That's unbecoming to a defender of justice."
"You expect me to come up with a challenge phrase just like that?"
The monster sweatdropped.
"Anyway..." Eos looked back to the monster, "Time to fight!"
The monster shot a wave of back goo at the two senshi, who managed to jump
out of the way.
"Ugh! What is that stuff?! It smells AWFUL!!" Sailor Hypnos yelled,
covering her nose and dodging another one of the monster's attacks.
"It's oil!" Mater shouted from the sidelines. "That monster is covered in-
and probably made of- oil! That makes it weak to fire! Eos, you should
probably be able to take it out in one shot!"
Eos nodded.
"Eos Twilight Blanket Explosion!!" she yelled, throwing her attack at the
monster. Instead of igniting it on fire and killing it, like it should have,
the attack merely slid off of it.
The monster took this opportunity to shoot its attack at Eos and Hypnos,
knocking them into a back wall. Mater jumped down from it next to them.
"I don't understend! That attack should have worked! We must need a bigger
explosion!" she yelled. Eos looked over to Mater.
"A bigger explosion? That was the best I can do!" she yelled. The monster
started walking toward them. Hypnos vaguely heard the sound of a car in the
distance.
"That's it!" she yelled, jumping up. "Stand back you two, I'll handle this
thing." She put one hand in the air.
"Hypnos Death Sleep!" she yelled. In a few second, the monster was fast
asleep. The car sound was getting closer. Hypnos smirked.
"Bye-bye, little monster. Pleasent dreams." she said with an almost
psychotic hint in her voice, and ran at the monster, jumping, and giving it
one good hard kick and, in doing so, pushing it into the road just as the car
drove by.
There was a screch of tires and a loud explosion after that, and Eos only
looked onward at the scene in front of her, gaping.
Hypnos stood with her back to Eos, staring out at the flames that the crash
had created. She had made a larger explosion and gotten rid of the monster,
alright, but at what cost?
Hypnos, turned to face Eos, the fire giving her an almost hellish glow.
"Monter exterminated," she said, walking back to them.
"...oh..oh... OH MY GOD!!!" Eos screamed. "Hypnos!!! There was at least one
person in there!!"
Hypnos walked by her, shrugging. "Then call 911 if you're so worried about
them. I got rid of the monster, that's my job, right? Whatever happens after
it does not qualify as my problem." Hypnos said, and with that, detransformed
and walked away.
A few weeks later, at a church just down the street from where a horrible
car crash had occured, there was a funeral session going on. Family and
friend cried as Lila and Harold Jones were put to rest. They had just gotten
married earlier that week, and had their whole life ahead of them, only to be
killed in that fatal car crash.
At the door to the church, a young girl with snowy white hair with blue
highlights in it and ice blue eyes leaned against the door to the church,
watching it with a bored look on her face. A priest walked by and jumped at
the sight of her for a second.
"Oh my, dear girl.. please, come inside, all are welcome in the house of
God. Were you a friend of the family, perhaps?" he asked her with a caring
smile. Quieta just shot him a dull glare.
"I don't like funerals," she said flatly, surprising the priest again.
"Then why are you here, miss?"
"I don't know. Maybe out of respect for the dead." she answered, looking
down and whispering something, then turning and walking away, heading off to
school, which she was already late for. The priest watched as she left,
repeating the words which the girl had whispered in his head.
"In any case... I have no reason to beg for forgiveness. I'm not sorry."
